Dear Readers, The next few months should witness a gradual surge of interests in dancesport all around the world. As the excitement grows, The Dancer will bring you more up-to-date information about the goings-on of the ADSA and the latest developments in dancesport in this part of the world. With the Asian Sports Festival just over, we are now looking forward to the Asia Pacific Championships in Kuala Lumpur, the World Standard Championships in Tokyo, the World Latin Championships in Bremerhaven and the Asian Games in Bangkok. The Dancer will continue to report on these major events in the coming issues. To keep abreast of the rapid progress made by dancesport, visit the Official ADSA Webpage on the Internet. With links to the IDSF and other dancesport websites around the world, you will always be kept well-informed of upcoming events and the latest news. We extend a warm welcome to our new members and to the following newly registered couples The ADSA has successfully conducted its first ranking competitions on 1 August 1998 during the 11th Lion City International Dancesport Championship. The next ranking competition will be held in conjunction with the 1st ABDA
Singapore Open Championships on 2 October 1998 at the Toa Payoh Sports
Hall. All competing members and registered couples are required to
participate in the ranking competition for selections to the Asian Games
in Bangkok.
The following couples represented Singapore at the Asian Dance Sport Contest as part of the Asian Sports Festival 98 in Shenyang on 30 - 31 August 1998.
