EDITORIAL 

Dear Readers,  

        The Editorial Committee of The Dancer takes this opportunity to wish all readers and well wishers a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. 

        The year is ending with a Bang!  What started off as quiet and uneventful, is now building up to a climatic finish with the 13th Asian Games in Bangkok where DanceSport is featured for the first time as a demonstration event.  Never before has any other DanceSport event generated so much interests and excitement.  The Dancer continues to bring you all the exciting developments leading up to the DanceSport event of the year. 

        The 1st ABDA Singapore Open Championships was a great success, thanks to all your support.  We can all look forward to the 2nd Singapore Open next year.  We would also like to report that the Asia Pacific Championships in Kuala Lumpur, the World Standard Championships in Tokyo and the 1998 DanceSport Grand Prix (an Asian Ranking Competition) held in Kyushu were similarly great successes.  The Dancer will continue to report on upcoming major events in the new year. 

        In our next issue, we will take a look at the DanceSport calendar for 1999 and also bring you reports on the progress of the various Commissions set up by the IDSF Presidium to review the Statutes, the General Agreement and DanceSport Rules.  Make sure you get the next issue of The Dancer.
