DanceSport Federation (WDSF) is pleased to announce that it has
entered into an agreement with Swiss International Air Lines
Ltd. – Lufthansa Group. The agreement aims to make the lowest

The first WDSF
World DanceSport Games will be held in
Koahsiung, Chinese Taipei (Mon 16 Sep 13 - Fri 20 Sep 2013)
Born out of the
VISION
of an all-encompassing DanceSport, the WDSF-proprietary
World DanceSport Games unite the different forms and styles
of dance in a multi-disciplinary event that features
top-level competition alongside with cultural programmes,
galas and celebrations.
The WDSF World DanceSport Games
bring together the international elites of the disciplines
on their competition programme.
The WDSF World DanceSport
Games promote the particular values of dance as sport
through contests at the highest international level as well
as through participatory programmes for the general public.
The WDSF World DanceSport
Games bring out the common traits between the disciplines
falling under the label "DanceSport." To achieve this, the
contests are staged concurrently and joint galas are
performed.

SBK MALAYSIAN OPEN
2013

The SBK Malaysian Open DanceSport Championships
2013 will be held on Sunday 1 September 2013, in Kulai, Johor.
All events (except Malaysia Closed events) are open to members
of the SGDF. Dinner tickets (per pax) are priced at RM150
/ RM100 (ringside) and RM80 (2nd row).

Calling all SGDF registered Grade A, B & C athletes!

The Athlete Development Programme
(ADP) aims to develop the quality of our DanceSport athletes by
providing the necessary resources to turn them into world-class
competitors. It includes a broad range of activities and workshops to
supplement the athletes’ training. The programme starts on 6 February
2013.
All interested athletes may apply by

DANCESPORT GIVES BACK
Starting 8 January 2013, SGDF is doing
its part for the Community by supporting Man Fut Tong Nursing Home which
houses elderly residents.
We aim to engage the residents and
nursing staff in basic DanceSport exercises on a regular basis to
enhance the residents’ recreation sessions. Be part of this good cause
by volunteering to organize tea dances during the year for the
residents/ staff/ members for their enjoyment, or assist with
performance items for the annual fund-raising activities.

The SGDF has officially launched the Education branch called SGDF
LAB on Sat 14 May 2011 @ The Substation. |
This branch is tasked with providing the public with a low-cost
alternative to experience dancesport. Many other activities are
lined up, which includes Pilates, Sports Nutrition etc.
SGDF ANTI-DOPING POLICY

The SGDF has on 1 March
2011 established the SGDF Anti-Doping Policy, thereby adopting
Anti-Doping Singapore's (ADS) Anti-Doping Rules as the SGDF Anti-Doping
Rules. |
All affiliates, members, athletes, participants, staff and any other
individual, paid or on a volunteer basis, who are under the jurisdiction
of the SGDF are bound by the SGDF Anti-Doping Rules and
agree to abide by these Anti-Doping Rules.

2011 WORLD DANCESPORT CHAMPIONSHIPS LATIN
The SGDF is proud to announce that Singapore will play host to the
2011 World DanceSport Championships Latin on 10 Sept 2011. Details

SGDF IS NOW A CHARITY-REGISTERED NSA
We are pleased to inform all members that the SGDF's application
to be a Charity has been successful. The SGDF is now classified as an NSA
with Charity Status, wef 31 Dec 2010.
IDSF NOTICE -
REGISTERED & UNREGISTERED DANCESPORT
COMPETITIONS
Choosing to
participate in the IDSF DanceSport system described in our Rules, Codes,
regulations and policies, carries with it an obligation to follow one set
of common rules and to participate exclusively within that IDSF system.
The IDSF Presidium
advises that IDSF athletes, Adjudicators, Chairmen and other officials are
authorized to participate in all competitions listed in the "IDSF
Competition Calendar" posted on our IDSF Web Site at
www.idsf.net .
However, it is the
responsibility of all persons to inform themselves regularly by checking
these lists to ensure that a competition is currently listed as registered
within the IDSF system. In case of doubt, please obtain confirmation in
writing from IDSF or a relevant IDSF Member body that a competition is
registered within the IDSF system.
A competition that is
not listed and registered by either IDSF or any IDSF Member body is
presumed to be unregistered, and therefore is presumed to be outside the
integrated IDSF system. Athletes, Adjudicators, Chairmen and other
officials who wish to continue to participate in the IDSF system should
not participate in unregistered competitions. The IDSF Presidium may take
action against any person or group associated with IDSF or an IDSF Member
body, who participates in a unregistered competition in any way, without
any further notice to any of them.

At the same meeting, Mr Heinz Spaeker who
has been with the IDSF the past 16 years, has decided to retire as IDSF
Sports Director. He is now an Honorary Member of the IDSF.
IDSF ADJUDICATORS' CONGRESS
The next IDSF Adjudicators' Congress will be held in Singapore on Sunday 4
July 2010. Interested participants are to write to the SGDF for more
details regarding this Congress.
THE
2010 WORLD UNIVERSITY DANCESPORT CHAMPIONSHIPS
The 2010 World University DanceSport Championships will be held in Chinese
Taipei on 10 October 2010. This will be an exciting event for many
athletes. Interested members who are in any of the tertiary
institutions, please contact the SGDF for more details.
2010 IDSF PROFICIENCY MEDAL TEST
The 2010 IDSF Proficiency Medal Test will be conducted on Sunday 25 April
2010 in Singapore. It will be invigilated by an overseas examiner
appointed by the IDSF. Certificates and medals issued are recognised
world-wide. Contact SGDF for details.
REVISION OF SGDF RANKING POINTS SYSTEM
WEF 1 April 2010, the Ranking Points System
will be modified, only for the SGDF Singapore Nationals series of
Championships.
When there is participation of foreign countries in 50% or more events
(excluding Tertiary events) that will be run (at the time of Closing Date
of Entries), then athletes in these events with foreign participation will
have their ranking points doubled.
The first such event will the the coming 11th
SGDF Singapore National DanceSport Championships, where there are 14
overseas couples (at Closing Date of Entries).
SGDF ADJUDICATORS' / COACHES' CONGRESS
The final in a series of Adjudicators' / Coaches' Congress
for FY09 will be conducted by the SGDF on Tuesday 30 March 2010.
Adjudicators and coaches who are interested in the congress are to contact
the SGDF directly.
MPDC MALAYSIAN NATIONAL RANKING DANCESPORT C'SHIPS
The Malaysian National Ranking DanceSport Championships will be
held on Sunday 18 April 2010 at the Bukit Jalil Golf & Country Resort.
All events (except Grade A) are open to SGDF Members and
affiliate, and are strongly encouraged to participate.

The 10th SGDF
Singapore National DanceSport Championships will be held on Sunday 24
January 2010. This is the sixth
successive Nationals that is being organised with a major Tertiary
Institution, and it will again be jointly organised with Nanyang
Technological University.
This event will be held together with
the 3rd Nanyang Technological University Tertiary DanceSport
Championships.

WDC
AMATEUR LEAGUE OPEN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS - PARIS
The 2009 WDC Amateur
League Open Amateur World Championships scheduled to be held at Paris,
Euro Disney, France on December 4-6, 2009, is not granted by IDSF and is
not registered by the IDSF Member for France, Comite National de Danse
Sportive (CNDS). Accordingly the IDSF Presidium may take action against
any athlete, adjudicator or other official, person or body associated with
IDSF or an IDSF Member, who participates in this competition in any way,
without any further notice to any of them.

SGDF TO SUPPORT NTU DSA'S DECEMBER DANCE
CAMP
The SGDF is pleased to announce that the 3-day NTU DSA Dance Camp will be
supported by the SGDF. Seminars & workshops will be conducted by SGDF, and a closed-competition will
be organised as part of the dance camp where SGDF will provide qualified
judges and the standard IDSF Scrutineering programme for the calculation
of scores.

The 1st Kulai
Open DanceSport Championships will be held in Kulai, Malaysia on
Sunday 13 December 2009.
This event is sanctioned by the Malaysian Professional DanceSport
Council (MPDC), a member of the International DanceSport Federation (IDSF).
The event will feature Stefano Ceccarelli & Debora Papi (Italy), the
2009 Coppa Italia Amateur Latin Champions and FIDS Lazio Regional
Championships Amateur Latin Champions.

3rd ASIAN INDOOR GAMES

The 3rd Asian
Indoor Games will be held in Vietnam from 30 Oct 09 - 8 Nov 09. This
is the third and final Asian Indoor Games before merging with the
Asian Martial Arts Games.
